Corporate social responsibility
Last year, Corporate Knights Magazine ranked Vancity among Canada’s
Top 50 Corporate Citizens. For us, corporate social responsibility is about
more than just volunteering or giving money to worthy causes. The organizations
that drive social change seek to change their own behaviour for the
better, because we know success is not just a “bottom line” question
– unless you’re using the triple bottom line of
environmental, social and financial success, that is.
At Vancity, we want to operate in a way that respects the needs of our employees,
our members and the wider community. That means we strive to:
- Offer business products that are socially and environmentally responsible
- Invest in the well-being of the communities we serve through grants,
scholarships, awards, fundraising and community service
- Adopt business practices that are socially and environmentally responsible,
and
- Advocate for social and environmental responsibility with the aim of
making a positive difference to the individuals and communities around us.
