Our mission and purpose
Vancity’s mission is to be a democratic, ethical and innovative provider
of financial services to our members. Through strong financial performance,
we serve as a catalyst for the self-reliance and economic well being of our
membership and community.
No matter how much we grow and change, there are some things that will never
change – our purpose and our values. Our purpose as a credit union –
ever since a handful of members founded Vancity in 1946 – is to work with
people and communities to help them thrive and prosper. We strive to live up
to this purpose every day.
