Vancity Community Foundation
Vancity’s community commitment is underlined by the work of the Vancity
Community Foundation, created by the membership in 1989 with a $1 million
endowment.
Now managing assets of more than $11 million, the Vancity Community Foundation
provides partnerships and grants to community organizations, housing societies
and non-profits to help them grow, create jobs, invest and prosper.
The range and diversity of the projects Vancity Community Foundation has supported
speaks volumes. Examples of our partnerships include:
- the Dr. Peter AIDS Center,
a Vancouver hospital and housing center for AIDS patients developed in partnership
with Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation
- the St. Elizabeth Home, a 28-unit home and shelter for women built in partnership
with St. James Community Service
Society and the Conference Housing Society
- a 64-unit non-profit rental for families in Surrey developed in partnership
with Conference Housing Society.
